The Happiest Place on Earth

So Sept 26th weekend Lee had this great idea to take the kids to Disney Land.. "before the economy crashes". Strange rationale I know but nonetheless the seed was planted and we went. Left Thursday night for Arizona... Picked up Pierce and left for California Friday morning.

We went to Santa Monica Beach Friday afternoon and then Disneyland Saturday morning.

Paige absolutely hated Disney except for the parade at 7:30 pm that night. So you can imagine how much fun I had fighting her all day. She threw a pacifier, sippy cup, and bottle into oblivion or the Disney lake. She pulled out her ponytail hair and all, destroyed her ribbon and shot her rubberband somewhere. She ate a bag of Cotton Candy, 7 fruit roll-ups, a Mt. Dew and then spit them on her very cute outfit. By 11:30 she looked like a very angry, disgusting elf. She proceeded to wriggle out of the stroller, my arms, Lees arms all the while screaming. Nothing would console her.

Trey loved every ride and wanted to go again. He probably had the most fun of all until... the parade when he was on overload. He needed a Mickey Balloon, Sword, Cotton Candy and a Churro stick simultaneously. He did not get them and began to cry and rub off his face painting which sent him into hysterics. Good ending for the day!
As for the other kids.. not really sure if they like Disney Land. They spent the day together standing in the "Big Kid" rides.

Later that night at the hotel everyone decided to sit in the hot tub. Apparently so did 12 other "special needs" adults with continence problems. I did not venture the tub but Lee was sure he smelled "diarrhea" in the hot tub. Imagine his horror when Trey emerged from under the water with his cheeks full of that bacteria ridden brew.

I don't know if Disney is really the Happiest Place on Earth... but we had fun. Next time I feel the need to blow some money I think I will rent a beach house.

while it may be the not-so-happiest place on earth to you I'm pretty sure it was a memory maker!
